Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta, the original Golden & Labrador Retriever Rescue in Atlanta, is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving Golden Retrievers and Labrador Retrievers that have been left in animal shelters. Started in 1991, Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta is registered with the State of Georgia and is licensed by the State Agriculture Department as an animal shelter and rescue group. Additionally, the Internal Revenue Service has granted Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta a federal income tax exemption under section 501(c)(3).

Golden Retriever Rescue of Atlanta (GRRA) is wholly supported by charitable, tax deductible donations, under 501(c)(3).

There are no paid officers or members within GRRA. Volunteers staff the myriad of tasks it takes to run the complex day-to-day operations of dog rescue.
