Basset Hound (short coat) Dog

Chloe the Dog needs a home

Chloe is all done with her heart worm treatment, getting her teeth all clean and shined up, and is officially ready to begin the search for her new best friend! 11/29/16

Hello basset hound admirers, I am Chloe, or you can call me Mooney, my foster mom likes that name too, and I'm so happy that I was scooped up by CBHR recently. Life for the past year and a half or so, prior to being rescued I was mostly kept in a crate. My parents divorced and then my dad became ill and could no longer care for me - yada yada yada - here I am. Foster mom describes me as a petite 47 pound basset of a certain age. But despite the actual number (11ish), I’m a lively golden girl with a sweet and sunny disposition. More importantly, I am cute as a button – just take a look at these photos. I do have a little hitch in my giddy-up when it comes to my hind legs, but that's only an issue when going up stairs. I can do it, but to be realistic, I need a home with very few stairs. Once inside or outside, I'm good to go. I'm sweet and mellow and I do like things a certain way. I'm currently bumping noses and getting along famously with my foster brother, it just took a little time to adjust. We mostly ignore each other, but I yearn for the attention of my humans. I now know happiness again and my tail wagging proves it. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that I prefer a home with no small children, just a hunch. I like to ignore my foster brother Buster and that works out just fine for both of us. I am eating well, I’m potty-trained, don't chew or climb on the furniture, and there’s no counter surfing - those crazy days are over.  I am usually wagging my tail and will lay by the door waiting for my foster mom to come home and I love to lay on one side and foster bro Buster on the other when she is working at her desk. My heartworm treatment is just about over, and I'm almost be ready to start my brand new life with you as my bestest friend. Foster mom says she loves me so much I can stay as long as it takes to find just the right home. Just give me a chance. I promise you won’t regret it. – Chloe   09/25/16
