Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

HOME ALONE!  KEVIN MCCALLISTER!  Do you remember this show and this character from 1990’s?  Kevin, played by Macaulay Culkin, was left home alone??  Maybe Macaulay Culkin was the original KEVIN MCCALLISTER, but VBACAC has our own version of KEVIN MCCALLISTER!  And he’s just as sweet, well-mannered, and calm as the original version, but lots more fun!  When I first met Kevin Mc, I approached his kennel slowly and gently because I heard that he seemed scared and skittish.  And maybe he was scared and skittish at first - who wouldn’t be in the shelter environment??    But I think really that he is just a calm and quiet dog in general.  He easily let me leash him up easily and when he realized he was getting out of his kennel, he was quite eager to come with me.  Kevin walked out of the kennel room, with the dogs barking all around him, without a single bark or reaction to any other dog.  He was easy on the leash, so easy that I did not even need to harness him up.  We headed over to the barnyard and once in there, his personality really came out.  At first, he wasn’t quite sure what to make of it and I could still see sadness in his eyes.  But once I showed him a tennis ball, his tail started to wag and he knew this was going to be fun.  Then I saw the smile start to come out and I knew I loved this dog!  He chased tennis balls, pranced around the barnyard, and rolled around in the ground.  He was having a good time - this was not the scared dog I had been hearing about.  This was a super sweet, super fun dog who was so happy to be out in fresh air and I was so happy to be there with him.  You can’t not be happy when you’re around this dog.  He lights up.  Kevin Mc also knows some basic commands and went easily went into a ‘sit’ position.  Kevin Mc, estimated to be 1-5 years old, was found as a stray, but by his reactions with me, it seems that he must have been a family dog somewhere, sometime.  And now, he’s at the shelter, scared and confused.   When he’s in his kennel, he is quiet, even with dogs barking all around him.  I can see him in someone’s home – he will love to play when it’s time, but knows how to be quiet.  He will love you and just want to be with you.  PLEASE come meet Kevin Mc.  You will not be disappointed.  This dog immediately got to me like no other dog.  Maybe it’s his quiet nature, or the way his eyes look sad when he stares at you from behind his kennel.  Whatever it is, Kevin Mc is an energetic pup with an old soul.  Her ID number is 1711-1678.  Thank you for considering adoption.
