Adopt a Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat)

Spent some time with this old fella yesterday and he proved to me that old dogs and hot dogs go together like Sonny and Cher, peaches and cream, wine and cheese...you get the point. Apollo is an 11 year old pit mix that came to us recently when he became a crotchety old man with other dogs and could no longer live in harmony with the family's other dogs. On a good note they told us that he had been a great dog for the 9 years they have had him. No issues. Great inside. House trained. Good with kids. Just an all around good boy. So this all around good boy is now looking for a family that has no other pets that he can hang with. He has no medical issues that we are aware of, other than sometimes his skin gets itchy, which I believe is called the "Tidewater Itch", to most local people with dogs. Apollo is real good on the leash and he knows his basic commands. He is neutered and up to date on his shots. He will be an easy addition to any home that likes old dogs with goofy personalities. He may look 11 on the outside, but Apollo is clearly not more than a pup in his own mind. Don't believe me? Bring a hot dog and take him out into the barnyard! He will have the time of his life and you will get an appreciation for loving every day to it's fullest, no matter how old you are. Apollo is one of those dogs that should teach us all a lesson. To everything there is a season, and if you love life, then you take the season you are in and make it the best one ever! He needs a couch buddy, a walking partner, a bed buddy and a thrower of the hot dogs.
