Adopt a Domestic Short Hair (short coat)
1712-1632 Allie Cat (off site foster) the Cat needs a home
Allie Kat is a sweet, tiny kitten, who was found wondering the streets of Virginia Beach in October of 2017. She was brought into the shelter by one of our Animal Control Officers and placed in a foster home for some TLC and socialization. Allie Kat was very scared at first and did her best to hide from her foster family, but within a few short days became very friendly and sweet. Allie Kat has not had the easiest time since being rescued. Despite seeming like a normal, playful kitten, Allie Kat had a very tough time keeping on her weight and has had some issues with bouts of diarrhea. Allie Kat has been tested for some common kitty ailments and checked by our vet staff, and has been diagnosed with Corona virus. This is something she could possibly battle her whole life and is the cause for her gastro-intestinal troubles.
We have all grown to love and care for Allie but she is in need of a very special home. We do not know what her length of life will be and at some point her troubles might become too much for her to maintain a high quality of life (which she is very happy right now). She needs a home that will not bring in other un-vaccinated cats who could be susceptible to picking up the virus but she can live happily with other pets who are vaccinated.
We consider Allie Cat's adoption a "hospice" type situation as we know her life may be shorter than another otherwise healthy cat. She is adorable - super tiny - and so loving! Call VBACAC at 757-385-4444 and ask to be put in touch with her foster family for a meet and greet.
