Sanford was rescued from the wintry mix that took a hold of Houston!
Sanford is an estimated 10 month old lab mix. He is currently 72 lbs but could stand to gain a few pounds. Since he is still a puppy he will continue to grow and may be over 80 lbs when full grown. Breed mix is unknown.
He is extremely friendly and has been great with everyone he has met, even the vet. He just loves to get attention and is always up for a good belly rub.
He is still a puppy and can be a bit "mouthy", so with that plus his energy level he would do best in a home where any kids are over the age of ten. He does like to go for walks, just needs a little work on leash pulling.
He has done well with the active young dog in his foster home and would probably enjoy an active adult companion dog to play with and teach him the ropes in his new home. He will need lots of exercise and play time to properly manage his energy. He goes into his crate on command and has done very well with crate training in his foster home.
Sanford has not been in a home with cats, but responded well to correction when he saw a stray cat while out for a walk. He did not try to chase it - he seemed more interested than anything else.
