Choose the Airedale Terrier as a Pet and Say Good-Bye to Boredom
“The King of the Terriers”, the Airedale terrier comes from Airedale, Yorkshire, England, and it is the largest of the terrier breeds. It comes from crossing the old and vanished breeds of the Black-and-Tan terrier with the Otterhound. It is also said that they have the Manchester terrier in their blood. They were initially bred to hunt otters (reason for which they are also called the Waterside Terrier) and hares in the valley of the Aire river - that also gave its name to the breed - and to herd sheep, being both shepherd and hunting dogs.
The Africanis Dog From the South African Plains to Your Home
Dog breeders do not officially recognize Africanis as a breed. Also known as the Bantu Dog or the Zulu Dog, the breed developed in South Africa and it is basically comprised of similar breeds that are originally from the area. However, dog historians have acquired enough evidence to conclude that, originally, the breed lived in the East and Middle East and migrated to Africa in ancient times. The Zulu Dog is a perfect companion for people, whether we are talking about more traditional activities like hunting or herding, or simply about the pleasure of having a dog companion.
The Afghan Hound Elegance and Distinction
If the old saying that claims that dogs and masters resemble each other is true, then the Afghan hound is surely the dog most likely to be seen in the presence of an aristocrat. Its silky, thick coat will match any of its masters' designer dresses or elegant suits. Distinguished in looks and personality, this is one of the breeds that you can't stop looking at when seeing on the street and that you are very likely to see at a dog show.
The Aidi Dog A Perfect Watchdog
Of Moroccan origin, the Aidi dog evolved as a watchdog for herds of goats and sheep. For this reason, it has heightened senses that are very good at detecting threats and its instincts are perfectly in tune, resulting in a speedy and efficient reaction. These characteristics are also perfect for a hunting dog - so it is also very good at filling that role. Very courageous, this breed has evolved in the Morrocan mountains, protecting itself and its owners from many vicious predators like wildcats, but also from strangers. Also called the Berber (it was commonly used by Berber tribes), this breed is very similar to Pariah dogs - to which it is believed to be related.

I have heard good things about Dr. Richie. Sadly we had Dr. Olson who was condescending and rude. To top it all off, we had an extended stay in the waiting room after our appointment for medicine that they didn't have in stock. We will NOT be returning. -Marion MacEwen.

Very passionate and always available to talk to even after hours. -carol miller.

Had a very quick, friendly visit, got my dog his kennel cough and checked out. They also trimmed his nails for me, (which he doesn't enjoy). Very reasonable price -Larry Peterson.

We have taken our pets here for 20+ years. Staff is always polite and friendly. Occational waits but not nearly as bad as a people doctor! The three vets we've worked with were always kind to our animals and helpful in explaining procedures and findings. I HAVE recommended Bangor Vet Hospital to many people! -A Munson.

I have been here several times and everything has run so smoothly. I continue to go back for everything my pups need! -Aggie Thurber.

I worked in the "dog world" for a couple of years when I first moved here and this vet was HIGHLY recommended to me by a number of people. I personally do not like Dr. Olsen, and if I can help it I request not to see her. My personal favorite is Dr. Weston, but Dr. Richie & Dr. Remington are both extremely intelligent & helpful in explaining things. Sometimes I have found Dr. Richie's "bedside manner" a little lacking, but perhaps I'm more willing to put up with it given his obvious knowledge. -L R.

We had to put them down reciently and no one could have done it better . We are eternally grateful. and I tld him if my husband gets sick I am bringing him to Dr Richie. Many Blessings Anny -Anny Seavey.

Was assured that I had the first appointment after their lunch and would be taken on time. I finally left when I'd been waiting for 22 minutes. -Vanessa Y.

There's nobody like Dr. Richie. He's the absolute best. His diagnostic skills are top notch. He always offers a variety of options for treatment with consideration given to both the animal and the owner. He's compassionate and his bedside manner is superb. Dr. Remmington is also excellent. I would not even consider taking my dog and cat to anyone else for care. They are the best! -Debbie Bates.

I give Dr.Richie,Dr.Remington and their staff a rating of a 5 for saving my dogs life last week. The doctor who did his first surgery Dr.Olson will never be allowed to work on any of my pets EVER ........If she had said she was sorry for what happened to Dylan it would have meant a lot but she never did. The staff and the other doctors were wonderful and i will bring my pets to them..... -Dorothy Bonner.

I agree!! They are the best!! However, I do disagree with the comment about Dr. Olsen. I find her very compassionate and knowledgeable. They are very reasonably priced with great service! -Robin Emery.
