Young At Heart is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing and rehoming adult dogs and cats. We are a small rescue that utilizes a small network of foster homes to save our pets. The majority of our pets are between the ages of 3 and 8 years, however you will occasionally find one a little younger or a little older in our care. Mature dogs and cats give so much and expect so little. They know you've rescued them and they respond to a loving touch, soft voice and kind eyes just as we humans do. We rescue them and we find them new forever homes, and they are welcome to stay with us until we are able to find that special someone. Young At Heart Pet Rescue was founded in April of 2005. Though we are just in our youth as an organization, our hope is to find a home for every adoptable pet we rescue, to educate the public on the benefits of adopting a mature pet, and to decrease the euthanasia rate for older, adoptable pets in Illinois.
