Utah Valley Animal Rescue was founded by Heathre Hone in July 2014. Her goal is to care for sick, undernourished, unwanted animals and to find permanent homes for them. Providing proper care for animals has been an integral part of Heathre's lifestyle. At one point she showed Rottweilers. For many years she was a member of Intermountain Therapy Animals (ITA), an organization dedicated to enhancing quality of life through the human/animal bond. For the past three years she has been a volunteer at South Utah Valley Animal Shelter, working to reunite owners and lost pets. In May 2014 she organized the annual Celebrate Your Pet Event, a fundraiser for the shelter and great fun for the community. Eventually Heather became aware of another ongoing animal problem. Not all pets are reunited with their owners, nor should they be. Some animals have been abused or abandoned. There is no going back for them. They have no voice. They need an advocate. Now they have both with Utah Valley Animal Rescue. As Heather says, "Animals have feelings. They can be hurt. They don,t deserve to be mistreated. They trust and depend on their owners. Animals are not meant to be thrown away". Utah Valley Animal Rescue works closely with Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, UT; South Utah Valley Animal Shelter; and area veterinarians to provide a safe place for unwell or traumatized cats and dogs to heal and recover until they can be placed in permanent homes with people who will take proper care of them. All animals are spayed or neutered, and vaccinated before they are adopted out to responsible owners. Heather's staff includes Blaine, her husband, and Sean Danner. All of them have made animal safety and health top priorities. Heather states, We love animals and want to help them. Utah Valley Animal Rescue is poised to do just that, one pet at a time.
