Tree House Animal Foundation is a humane organization founded in 1971 that promotes the inherent value of every animal and strives to educate the public about proper and responsible animal care, with a focus on the care and placement of stray cats with special physical and emotional needs. Tree House has the largest cageless, no-kill shelter for sick, injured and abused cats in the Chicagoland area. In 2005, Tree House rescued and admitted nearly 600 cats, and found homes for nearly 500 “residents.” Additionally, we performed over 500 spays and neuters and we are working hard to increase our services in this area. Through the years, Tree House has expanded its reach across the nation and has developed many different programs, including a Pet Food Pantry for low-income families, a volunteer-driven Animal-Assisted Therapy Program for the infirm and elderly, and an educational outreach program to local schools to educate children on the benefits of a human/animal relationship.
