SVAS is a private, non-profit animal shelter which is managed by Sun Cities Animal Rescue (SCAR). We receive no federal or state funding. We must rely on generous donations, fund raising events, and revenue from our thrift store to meet our operating costs. SVAS adopts over 1000 dogs and cats each year. Most of these are participants in Maricopa County Animal Care and Control’s New Hope program.
