St. Tammany Humane Society was chartered in 1953 as a non-profit organization to prevent animal suffering. All donations are tax deductible and help us to administer aid to the homeless and hurt pets of our parish.
We are a "selective admissions" shelter, which means that we accept only the pets we think our budget will allow us to feed, house and take care of until adoption.
In 1998 we adopted 700 pets.
