Second Chance Boxer Rescue Inc.
is an independent, 501c3 not-for-profit organization that places purebred boxers in loving homes that may enter rescue as an owner surrender (due to divorce, death, etc.), a stray through a shelter, and/or because of abuse or neglect situations. We help provide a safe harbor for Boxers that might otherwise be destroyed and place them in homes throughout NY, NJ, PA and all of New England.
Second Chance Boxer Rescue is an independently operated Boxer Rescue in the northeast U.S. and is not affiliated with any other boxer rescues.
We were formerly known as Rochester Boxer Rescue &
Maine Boxer Rescue.
Not all rescues are the same. All boxers that come to SCBR are taken to trained foster homes immediately. All dogs are then tested with children, cats and other dogs and receive a temperament evaluation. All dogs are spayed or neutered and made sure they are current on their vaccinations and heartworm test prior to placement. We will NEVER ask you to go to a shelter or go to the home of the person surrendering their dog. Before you adopt from any rescue, ask the rescue if they evaluate the dogs and put them in foster homes. If the answer is no, please reconsider taking an unevaluated dog into your home with your children or other pets.
