A small, not for profit, open admission dog shelter in the Catskill Mountains of New York. Rondout Valley Animals for Adoption (RVAA), functions in the community to respond to the needs of all pet owners, present and future. RVAA believes its role and responsibility in the community is to assist every pet owner in becoming the best caregiver they can be.
RVAA's shelter provides an innovative, low stress environment for sheltered animals. Dogs are kept in their own tiny rooms complete with furniture, toys, and bedding. They listen to music and are handled and played with every day. They have things to play with and things to chew.
RVAA's involvement goes on even after an animal is adopted, providing lifelong behavioral help and free training classes to adopters.
