Roanoke Chowan Humane Society is a 501c3 non profit. We operate from the Bertie County Animal Shelter located in Windsor, North Carolina. Bertie County is the largest county in North Carolina with approximately 600,000 acres. There is an overwhelming amount of dogs cats which are surrendered or strayed from their owners in Bertie County. Roanoke Chowan Humane Society works for these animals to find good permanent homes. We are a very small organization with a few volunteers. We rely mainly on private donations to cover medical costs surgical sterilization of the animals we adopt.
