The Preston County Animal Shelter is a municipal animal control facility located in Kingwood, West Virginia. (MapQuest to Kingwood, WV, then see local map below for directions to the shelter.) We are the county's only animal control facility, with limited space and a high intake rate, so pets often do not remain very long. If you are seriously interested in a pet listed here, please contact the shelter as soon as possible. We also may have pets available that are not listed here. In particular, small dogs and puppies are sometimes adopted the same day they arrive and don't even make it onto our Petfinder site. So if you are looking for a type of pet that you do not see listed here, please contact us or stop by on adoption day.
