Pound Pals of Radford, Inc. is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. We receive no public funds and rely on tax-deductible donations to help abandoned animals. Contributions help pay for the animals' medical needs as well as for spay/neutering.

Pound Pals works in partnership with the City of Radford Animal Shelter.

The shelter is staffed by city employees. Volunteer services are provided by Pound Pals of Radford, Inc.

The mission of Pound Pals of Radford, Inc. is the prevention of suffering, neglect, abuse, and cruelty to animals by working in conjunction with our local animal shelter in all phases of animal placement and rescue.

Pound Pals of Radford, Inc. does not utilize any form of extreme temperament testing, such as Assess-A-Pet, on our dogs. Whenever possible, the dogs and cats go to caring foster homes prior to adoption. Animals are evaluated on an individual basis.
