Pen Pals Inc is a non-profit NO KILL animal shelter located on the grounds of Dixon Correctional Center in Jackson, LA and serves the surrounding areas.
Our program includes comprehensive training of future veterinarians in shelter environments and also provides programs promoting rehabilitation of those incarcerated at DCI.
It is our mission PEN PAL’s Inc. Dog and Cat Shelter and Adoption Center to
• Provide a safe and healthy environment for homeless dogs and cats.
• Provide medical needs for the animals at the shelter.
• Teach basic commands to the animals in order to make them more adoptable.
• Reduce pet over-population through an aggressive spayneuter program.
• Reunite lost pets with their owners.
• Secure quality adoptions for the animals.
• Raise money to assist with medical, operating cost and other care
