Our Mission Statement To improve the lives of stray and homeless dogs in Posey County Indiana, We are a 501c3 non profit - no-kill organization. In late 2004, two of our founding members began volunteering with the Posey CountyMt. Vernon, Indiana Animal Control Shelter in an effort to give stray and homeless dogs that come into the shelter a new home and a second chance at life. Along the way other volunteers joined the group, and this non-profit organization became PC Pound Puppies. Every dog that comes into the shelter is immediately given a 7-way shot, kennel cough vaccine, and is wormed. The owner has 10 days to claim them, and as soon as that time is up, we begin the adoption process. Before adoption, all dogs are spayedneutered, brought up to date on shots, microchipped, heartworm tested, and treated for heartworms if necessary. Our shelter is at a private residence and therefore is not open to the public, so we hold weekly adoption events on Sundays at the Pet Food Center, 4036 N 1st Avenue Evansville, Indiana from noon-4pm. We typically have 30+ dogs on hand at every event and often have dog trainers available to assist with the ion of the proper dog for your family and with introducing dogs to each other.
