The Outer Banks S.P.C.A. (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt corporation which proudly staffs and manages the Dare County Animal Shelter. The Outer Banks S.P.C.A. provides a loving environment and temporary housing for all lost, stray, or unwanted domestic animals in Dare County. The Dare County Animal Shelter and The Outer Banks S.P.C.A. in cooperation with local Dare County Veterinarians offer a low cost spay/neuter program for county residents. We require all of our adopted animals to be spayed or neutered. The Outer Banks S.P.C.A. has literature available in the shelter lobby for educational purposes or you can just stop in if you have questions about a particular behavior of your cat or dog.
