Old Fella Burke County Animal Rescue is the only licensed rescue group operating in Burke County today. Before our rescue began, there were several private citizens who picked up strays and found homes for them. Any true stray was left at the city pound with only one fate. These animals had no opportunity to be adopted or saved.
The mission of OFBCAR is to prevent animal cruelty in our community through the
following means provide educational programs to the public on the proper care of
companion animals, lessen pet overpopulation by encouraging spaying and
neutering, and finding adoptive homes for adandoned or homeless pets.
