The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector
Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.
The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give
To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.
The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy
At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.
Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them
Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Animal Shelter details for Oconee Regiional Humane Society Please visit Oconee Regiional Humane Society and adopt a homeless pet
You have reached the shelter page for Oconee Regiional Humane Society. Oconee Regiional Humane Society is located in eatonton, Georgia. If you have information to add or update for Oconee Regiional Humane Society, please click here and let us know.
The Oconee Regional Humane Society (ORHS) was founded in January of 1999, when five Putnam County residents held a meeting to discuss the need for a local animal welfare group. The group began on a modest scale, finding homes for homeless animals and holding fundraising events to finance its efforts. From the very beginning, helping people who could not afford to have their pets spayed or neutered was a part of the group’s work.
Since those early days, ORHS has grown rapidly and currently has a 10-member board of directors, a growing group of active volunteers, and more than 300 individual and corporate members, most of whom reside in central Georgia. ORHS, which serves rural Greene and Putnam counties, has developed programs to tackle the most pressing needs of our community. Despite our growth and the scope of our services, we remain entirely volunteer-run, with no paid employees. ORHS receives no funding from local, state, or federal government and no financial support from national humane organizations such as the ASPCA or Humane Society of the United States. We depend entirely on private donations to continue our work.
The Oconee Regional Humane Society holds member meetings on the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30 PM at The Peoples Bank, 995 Greensboro Road, Eatonton, GA. Anyone interested in learning more about ORHS is welcome to attend. You can reach us by e-mail at orhs@bellsouth.net.
