The Nicholas County Animal Shelter's mission is to provide humane care and treatment and a safe place for all strays and unwanted pets. We accept all domesticated animals and make arangements for wildlife to be turned over to the WV DNR. We intervene with the Nicholas County Sheriff Department in cases of animal cruelty and seek to return lost animals to their owners. We also strive to promote the adoption of as many animals as possible and increase public awareness as to the importance of spaying/neutering and the need for responisble pet care.
