Midwest Prairie Dog Shelter, Inc. MWPD Shelter serves as a sanctuary for prairie dogs and is a registered 501c3 non-profit organization devoted to providing compassionate, life-long hospice care for prairie dogs in need. We welcome prairie dogs in need of rescue, many of which are unable to be released back to their natural habitat because of injury and other rehabilitative issues. We also take in displaced prairie dog pets. We are committed to promoting responsible attitudes toward all five species of prairie dogs and educating the public about the importance of preservation of the prairie dog and their habitat through advocacy and outreach via our website.
