Through many programs, Last Hope, Inc., a not for profit organization established in 1981, is attempting to reduce the tremendous dog and cat overpopulation problem on LI, NY. Our mission is to encourage responsible and economic pet ownership; and transform the public image of the typical pound animal. All of our cats and dogs up for adoption are fully veterinarian tested, have all their shots, are leukemia negative and are spayed/neutered. We only deal with rescued or death-due pound animals. We do not take anyone's unwanted home pets. If you have an animal to give up, please refer to our FAQ page. You are welcome to visit our cat cages every day at Petco in East Meadow and our new location in Huntington.
We are pleased to announce our new adoption center locate at 597 W. Jericho Turnpike, (1 mile west of Route 110). Our center hours are Monday 10-5, Tuesday 12:30-8, Wednesday 5:30-8, Thursday 12-8, Friday 12-6, Saturday 11-4, and Sunday 12-4.
