The LaGrange – Troup County Humane Society strives to improve the lives of animals by educating the public on the humane treatment of animals. This includes the importance of spaying or neutering, current vaccinations, annual veterinary examinations, and the proper care and treatment of animals.
The Society also works to increase the number of adoptions from the City of LaGrange Animal Shelter; therefore, decreasing the number of animals euthanized each year.
The Society supplies the City of LaGrange Animal Shelter with dog and cat food; provides for emergency medical treatment of injured animals (when possible); and with the assistance of generous donations, has constructed a new feline facility.
Through community involvement, quarterly newsletters, educational programs, and this web site, the Society promotes the adoption of healthy animals, as well as educating the public to lessen the number of unwanted animals in this community.
Generous donations from humanitarians and countless volunteer hours from animal lovers allow the Society to continue its work in the LaGrange – Troup County community.
