Our shelter animals need you! The animals of the Independence Animal Shelter are sending out an S.O.S. (Support Our Shelter Animals). The Animals Volunteer Program always need new Volunteers, and it is a great responsibility helping out the scared, neglected or abused animals that are brought to our shelter. Our City animals cannot thrive without the help of community volunteers. You are a very important key in providing skills that our staff cannot, and it mean so much for the animals in our shelter!
Working at the shelter takes a very special type of volunteer, and not everyone can honestly be a hands-on type of volunteer, but every one of us has a talent, which can be used. You will find that your talents can be offered and appreciated at the shelter. Are you a skilled professional in a specific area that would like to lend us a helping hand? Do you love animals, and realize that there is a way to help our city animals, while temporarily staying with us, until we can find that special family that will give them a loving safe home? Not all of our available volunteer desires, need to be done at the shelter.
