The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector
Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.
The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give
To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.
The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy
At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.
Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them
Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

Animal Shelter details for Humane Society of Yates County Please visit Humane Society of Yates County and adopt a homeless pet
You have reached the shelter page for Humane Society of Yates County. Humane Society of Yates County is located in penn yan, New York. If you have information to add or update for Humane Society of Yates County, please click here and let us know.
We are asking friends of animals to please help us save your local animal shelter. As many of you may not be aware of, we are not associated in any way with the State, County or Village, nor do we receive help from the Humane Society of the United States. That means that we receive no funds to help with repairs, for upkeep of the buildings or the care of the animals. Any money we receive comes from you, in the way of donations. The money that you send in is all that keeps us going, and because the past couple of years have been so lean, donation wise, we are in desperate times. The only income we have at present, and have always had, is the adoption of dogs and cats, but that does not generate enough funds to pay for all the needs of the buildings and the animals.
We do have a crematorium on the property now, (which we have under lease), that eventually will start bringing in much needed funds for the Humane Society, but that is a ways down the road. The crematorium offers an opportunity to fill a void for local vets as well as individuals, to provide a vital service to the County and surrounding areas. Until such time, we are still depending on you to help support us. (We will always need your donations, to help us exist.) Without your support, we may have to close. The Humane Society of Yates County has been in existence since 1908, though not in operation all those years. It has been in operation since 2001. The building is still in desperate need of repair; i.e. the shelter needs a new roof, as this one leaks very badly, a new or upgraded heating system that works, repairs to the foundation of the building and cages for the dogs. We don’t have the money for any of the repairs.
