We operate as Kansas City’s animal shelter, we do not decline any animal intake from KCMO residents. Half Way Home Pet Adoptions does everything possible to find loving homes for the countless dogs and cats brought into the shelter every day. Sadly, the incoming rate of unwanted pets is much higher than the amount of available homes. We take in about 700 dogs per month.
Halfway Home Pet Adoptions collaborates with several rescue groups in the region to get animals transferred. If you are a “licensed” rescue group and would like to offer assistance, please contact us email@petshalfwayhome.com. 816 921-0201.
The Halfway Home Pet Adoptions facility is open for adoptions 7 days a week.
Strays and lost dogs are kept at the shelter for five days before they are offered for adoption or euthanized. Pets relinquished by their owners are put up for adoption or euthanized the next day.
