The Greenfield/Hancock County Animal Control Department is responsible for enforcing all city, county, and state laws with regard to the treatment of animals. The Animal Control Department serves all of Hancock County and performs the following duties:
* Retrieve and shelter lost and stray dogs and cats
* Find caring and responsible people to adopt lost or stray pets
* Investigate cases of animal cruelty and neglect
* Remove dead or injured wild animals
* Educate public of responsibilities of pet ownership
