The Grant County Animal Shelter is a rural county shelter located about 35 miles south of Cincinnati, Ohio and about 45 miles north of Lexington, KY. As a county shelter, we must accept all dogs and cats that come to us from local residents. We are nearly always at or beyond capacity with dogs and cats and would love for you to come see our wonderful animals and fall in love. We do adoption events at the PetSmart in Cincinnati Oakley every other Sunday. We are very rescue-friendly and can make arrangements for low-cost paid transports to Chicago, Buffalo and the east coast if you live in ove of those areas and happen to fall madly in love with one of our animals.
