Every year over 10,000 animals are euthanizied in Gaston County and hundreds die on the roadside. They die not because of their mistakes, but because of irresponsible pet owners who neglect, abuse, or abandon them.
Established in 1977, Gaston Humane Society continually works to provide a voice for the animals. Our society is a private, non-profit, tax-exempt organization that receives no operating support from any level of government. We depend entirely on your contributions and our fund raising activities to provide services vital to the welfare of the animals in our community.
Our Goal: We are working toward the day when in Gaston County, animal abuse, in all forms, will be finished and there will be a loving, caring home for every animal and pet.
The Humane Society office is located are 114 Sherrill Road in Gastonia. Due to zoning regulations we are not able to house any animals at this location. We rely on foster homes to house animals we accept into our adoption programs.
