The Aryan Molossus
Once a Warrior, Today a Loyal Companion and a Family-Protector

Should you ever decide that you need a big dog, with an imposing posture, which can look threatening and majestic at the same time, the Aryan Molossus is definitely one breed that you must take into consideration.

The Armant
The Egyptian Dog with a Lot of Love to Give

To some of you, the Armant is better known as the “Egyptian Sheepdog” and, just as the name suggests it, it was bred to be a herding dog. However, in ancient times, it was used mostly as a guard dog. This breed is originally from Egypt and named after the town of Armant. Its loyalty and agility are the two main characteristics which make this dog special.

The Atlas Terrier
The Small Dog With a Massive Dose of Energy

At a glimpse, the Atlas Terrier can be easily mistaken with the Jack Russell Terrier. However, there are some differences that may help you tell these two cousins apart. Before deciding to buy or adopt a dog of this breed, there are some things that you have to take into consideration. Unfortunately, this is quite a rare breed of dogs in our days.

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie
It Is Impossible Not to Love Them

Anglos-Francaises de Petite Venerie are the smallest dogs in the Anglos-Francais category. However, the name „Petite”, meaning „small”, is not at all referring to the size of the dogs, but to the game they are after. Even if they've been around since the 16th century, today, these dogs are not easy to find. So if you have decided to adopt one, you can be sure that you will have a unique pet.

The English Springer Spaniel Club of Long Island was founded more than 30 years ago; its Rescue program was started in 1988. We are an informal group of unpaid volunteers from Maine to Pennsylvania. Every year our organization places approximately 100 abused, abandoned or unwanted Springers into new homes. Some of these purebred dogs come to us through local shelters; some come to us due to the death of a former owner, divorce, a new baby, move to a new house, small apartment, etc. We've even heard of dogs who no longer fit into the family because the decor of the home was changed!

When we find a Springer in an animal shelter, we bail it out, nurse it back to health, clean it up, neuter it, give it its shots, and live with it in one of our foster homes for a while to evaluate it and allow it to get over the loss of its former owner, then we place it with an appropriate family.

Occasionally, we find ourselves with a dog which is unadoptable because of serious disease or incorrigible temperament. This is a difficult judgment for us to make, but we are experienced in making these evaluations, and we always reach a consensus. Because of this process, you have a better chance of adopting the right dog for you than you would with an ordinary animal shelter.

Over the years we have put hundreds of purebred English Springer Spaniels into new homes, and in the process, we've met some of the NICEST people! At any given time, approximately twenty dogs are staying in temporary foster homes, waiting for a new home -- perhaps with you.
