Here is where your pets will go if they become lost. Denville built the shelter in September 1997 to house lost and found pets until their owners could be found. Since opening we have housed 155 dogs and numerous cats and other animals. Of the 155 dogs 140 were returned to their owners and 12 were adopted because their owners could not be found. There is a charge to the owner of $25.00 impound fee and $5.00 a day to cover the costs of food and care for the pets. We accept donations of pet food , cat litter, blankets, towels, bleach, food bowls and toys for the animals. The shelter is open daily from 8:00-9:00am and 2:00 to 3:00PM for reclaiming your animal Monday-Friday and Saturday 8:00AM to 9:30AM.

For adoptions please make a appointment, we normally do not have animals that need new homes. In the year 2000 we are looking forward to new cages and equipment to ensure your pets safety. If you are interested in making donations or if you would like to help out please call 625-8300 Ext. 265.

During Hurricane Floyd the Township of Denville thought of your pets safety. Anyone who was evacuated was able to house their pets at the shelter until all was safe. So incase of emergency, fires, storms ,etc. we will be there to help a very important part of your family.
