Companion Animal Placement Assistance (CAPA) volunteers work directly with the animals that pass through the County's Lompoc Animal Shelter. CAPA maintains a cross-referenced file of animals wanted and animals available. We encourage adopters to check our census before adopting a purebred animal. We match people and animals that will be happy together. We spend donated funds on advertising and medicating. Our “Pet of the Week” and Miller “Pet of the Week” photos appear in the Lompoc Record and Santa Ynez Valley News weekly. We show animals at PetsMart and Government Access Cable TV. Additionally, we exercise the shelter dogs and groom the dogs and cats. We also assist the County Vet with exams and medications. . The Shelter's business hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturdays, from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., Our phone number is 805-737-7755.
