Classy Cats is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit Texas Corporation registered with The State of Texas as a feline rescue & adoption agency. But, Classy Cats isn’t just another rescue and adoption group. Our founders and volunteers have been working cat rescue & adoption work for better than 20+ years, & collectively we have approximately 70 years of experience. We know our cats. Our work is a labor of love and we work very hard to socialize and care for those cats we find homeless or on death row. All of our cats have been rescued from area animal shelters & pounds, or have been acquired from individuals who were no longer able to care for them We specialize in office cats, library cats and church cats. All of our cats will do very well in regular homes, but Classy Cats cats are socialized in both a home and a business environment. There are books written about how many libraries in the USA have library cats. There’s nothing like a good book and a cat. Everyone in our organization volunteers their time and energy toward saving cat’s lives & finding them the best possible home. That means matching the cat to what the adopter wants in a cat, not just placing the cat in any home that wants a cat. Our primary goal, in addition to placing as many homeless cats as possible into perfect homes, is to educate the public about the importance of spay & neuter and that the lack of responsibility of people to do so is the DIRECT cause of the Pet Kill Crisis. Our secondary goal is to educate adopters of the importance of adopting “for life”. That when they abandon their pet(s) they are contributing to the vast numbers of homeless animals & creating a situation in which the abandoned animal mourns their loss, often to the point of causing the death of the pet. We work hand-in-hand with those area shelters to establish a network of local grassroots rescue groups in order to provide an outlet instead of death to the many adoptable companion animals that otherwise would be killed. By creating that network, we desire to sustain lasting social change, to prevent the killing of these innocent animals. Thank you for your support. Without it we would not be able to do this work.
