City Critters, Inc. is a small 501(c)(3) cat rescue and adoption organization located and operating in the borough of Manhattan (New York City). Our mission is to reduce the suffering and death of animals in our city by rescuing and placing stray and abandoned cats, kittens, and occasionally dogs; by promoting the spay/neuter of all companion animals; by educating the public on local animal issues; by offering advice or assistance to local individuals on problems involving homeless cats and dogs; and by working within our community to support the human-animal bond in all ways possible.

New York City is not a hospitable environment for homeless animals. The plight of these animals has led to the growth of a strong animal rescue network in New York. City Critters works in conjunction with other groups to place stray and abandoned cats, as well as to reduce euthansia at the municipal shelter system by accepting their animals for placement through our network.
