Cat Haven Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. It was established in 1999 to rescue and place cats and kittens in loving homes. In just a few years, we have rescued and found homes for over 3,500 cats. We make it possible for area residents to find the perfect cat or kitten by hosting adoption events every Saturday and Sunday in the Baton Rouge area. All cats adopted through Cat Haven have been spayed or neutered, tested for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus, and have received age appropriate basic vaccinations.

In addition to finding good homes for cats and kittens, Cat Haven has an active program to reduce the number of stray feral cats in our community. We have trapped, neutered and released almost 2000 cats. The Feral Program reduces the potential for more stray cats and saves hundreds of kittens from the cycle of wild life outdoors by transferring them to Cat Haven's adoption program.

Cat Haven has no paid staff and depends completely on volunteers, members and donors to continue it's work. We host annual events to raise money for our programs and operating expenses. Our annual "Cat Tales & Cocktails Gala", held every September here in Baton Rouge, focuses on our building needs. Other fundraising efforts and donations provide the money needed to operate our programs.

Cat Haven also relies on local veterinarians that participate in our program. They provide quality health care at reduced rates so that we are able to give our cats and kittens the healthy start they need before going to their new homes. These veterinarians also give us the benefit of their experience and are always there to answer any questions we may have about feline health and behavior.

Cat Haven is a Louisiana nonprofit organization with a member Board of Directors that is responsible for all aspects of Cat Haven's operations and is accountable to our membership.
