The Bouviers’ Befrienders was organized and incorporated with the State of Michigan in 1996. At that time, we applied for and received a provisional designation as a 501 (c) (3) organization. We received our permanent designation as a 501(c) (3) not for profit organization, after filing the appropriate paperwork, just last year.
The Befrienders was originally part of the Bouvier des Flanders Club of Southeast Michigan. At that time, Maryanne Harvey ran the organization. Maryanne rescued and adopted many dogs over the years and it was through her wisdom that we became our own entity and able to have our own account and raise funds on our own. Today, a Board of Directors runs the organization.
The names and phone numbers of the officers are listed below. Please feel free to call or e-mail any of us. If we can’t answer your question, we will refer you to the person who can.
