The Association is organized in an effort to prevent cruelty to animals, to promote the animal population control concept, and to educate the public as to needs, care, and understanding of animals.
It is the policy of the Association to provide humane care and treatment for all animals needing protection in the area served. The Association’s goal is to unite animals with responsible owners who are willing to commit to the animal for the term of its life. To this end, the Association operates a shelter for stray, homeless, or neglected animals, seeks to return lost animals to owners, and seeks suitable homes for animals without owners
The name of this corporation is Bitter Root Humane Association. Located in the city of Hamilton, MT and serving Ravalli County, this organization operates as a nonprofit, public benefit corporation under the Montana Nonprofit Corporation Act and is recognized as exempt from taxation under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
