Best Southwest Humane Society was established in 1985 as a non-profit organization dedicated to the prevention of cruelty to animals and to educate the public in humane treatment of animals and in pet care. Our mission: ** To provide for the welfare of animals by providing temporary foster homes and medical care until the animals can be adopted to a permanent and loving home. ** To promote/provide for the well being of animals by offering education to the community and to advocate for the improved treatment of animals. ** To promote responsible pet ownership and care by educating the community on the need for spaying or neutering animals and by offering assistance in doing so. ** To participate in nationwide and local campaigns/events to increase public awareness of various issues affecting animals.
