Austin Pets Alive! (APA!) is a 501(c)3 (nonprofit) organization of volunteers working to stop the killing of Austin's adoptable dogs and cats. We provide solutions to pet overpopulation, including promoting the importance of spaying/neutering, encouraging people to make lifetime commitments to their pets, supporting free/low-cost spay/neuter services to underserved communities, and assisting in the care of pets of domestic violence victims and short-term stay hospital patients.
In a unique partnership with the Town Lake Animal Center (TLAC), APA! is helping to stop the killing of adoptable dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens whose only crime is that they are homeless. Why are they killed? Because there are not enough homes to adopt them all.
