In 1999 Cheryl and Jennifer moved to a 66 acre property in the Santa Maria foothills. We suddenly had enough land to pursue our love of horses, and were thinking of buying a nice draft cross colt and raising him to be a stallion. A friend mentioned an add for Premarin foals, and they had draft crosses available. Jennifer knew a bit about the Premarin(PMU) industry from reading Draft horse Journal, and was interested in the possibility of getting a nice Draft cross colt from a PMU farm in Canada.

Shortly after that we contacted a ranch in Saskatchewan that was advertising pinto draft crosses. They sent us pictures of mares and foals in pasture that were so beautiful that we got in the truck and drove 2500 miles 3 days later! We did not know when we left home that we were headed for a PMU ranch, we did figure it out a couple of days into our trip, which made it even more of an adventure.
