The Alliston & District Humane Society covers the townships of New Tecumseth, Mulmur, and Adjala-Tosorontio as well as the Villages of Cookstown, Rosemont and Hockley and the Town of Schomberg. The ADHS is an affiliate of the Ontario Society for The Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (OSPCA). An affiliate has its own board of directors and is responsible for its own finances and policies. The ADHS adheres to all OSPCA bylaws as they pertain to an affiliated society. Our Animal Protections Services agents are trained and governed by OSPCA. Any monies raised in our area stay in our area. The ADHS attempts to provide shelter for stray and unwanted animals with priority given to abused and neglected animals. The animals in our care are housed in a network of volunteer foster homes, assisted by our Foster Home Co-ordinator. The ADHS provides a lost and found reporting service, humane education, and animal protection and cruelty investigation services. Dedicated volunteers make all of these services possible.
