The Alliance for Animal Rights (AAR) was founded for the purpose of educating the Penn State community about the exploitation of animals for human benefit. Our activities include distributing literature around campus, setting up information tables, sponsoring speakers on various issues, hosting vegetarian (vegan) dinners, holding demonstrations against cruel practices, volunteering at the local animal shelters and getting the community to live more “veg” friendly.

We believe animals deserve to live peaceful lives without being exploited for food, entertainment, experimentation, or clothing. Nonhuman animals are living beings that value life as much as we humans. After considering the health and environmental benefits along with saving innocent lives, we feel the best way to live a compassionate lifestyle is to adopt an animal-friendly one. The Alliance for Animal Rights is a voice for animals who cannot otherwise speak up for themselves.
