Adopt-A-Rescue-Pet began in the name of "Shelter Dog Rescue," a group of individuals rescuing "purebred" dogs from the Clark County, NV area animal shelters that have "timed out" (scheduled for euthanasia). In January of 1999, Shelter Dog Rescue had grown into an organization to include volunteers rescuing cats, ferrets, rabbits, and pond fish, in addition to all breeds, mixes, ages, etc. of dogs needing a second chance at finding a loving home.
In ARP, as a non-profit public charity, our goals are to assist rescuers of animals with needed funds to cover medical, boarding, care, and needs of animals which would otherwise be euthanized for lack of service available to them.
Additionally, the efforts of this fund raising campaign will support the expansion of our current events while allowing us the funds to lease a facility so that we can house and assist more needy animals 7 days a week, and offer adoptions beyond municipal shelter hours. A place where domestic pets receive care and training, while waiting for their "second chance" adoption into a loving permanent home.
