A Caring Place Humane Society of Darien, Illinois is a no-kill, non-facility, all-volunteer humane society that rescues dogs and cats primarily from other shelters, animal control facilities, pounds, and veterinary care offices who are at highest risk of getting killed due to lack of space, lack of commitment, or opportunity - rahabilitating and rehoming them. We also rehome animals given up by owners or relinquished by good samaritans. Due to the overwhelming numbers of animals needing rehoming, we operate with a wait list for owner relinquished animals.

We are an Illinois not-for-profit corporation, recognized 501(c)(3) charity with the Internal Revenue Service, and licensed by the Illinois Department of Agriculture as a humane society. We are supported only by adoption fees and gifts from our caring friends since A Caring Place receives no governmental or corporate funding, and minimal adoption fees when our animals go to their new forever homes.
