Ark Animal Rescue Adoptions is made up of volunteers who assist the LaGrange County Animal Shelter place homeless pets. Through grants and donations, and income from our PAWS and CLAWS bookstore these pets are provided with veterinary care and given a chance at a loving home. LaGrange County, Indiana is a remote area in the heart of Amish Country, and our adoptions are done mainly through the Internet and word of mouth. Shelter adoptions tend to be lower because of the location, so this year we are beginning an aggressive plan to hold several off site adoption events in larger surrounding towns to increase adoptions. Unfortunately, puppy mills surround the shelter, so we do see many cases of neglect. No animal is turned away, and LaGrange is a no kill shelter. ARK does everything possible to keep things that way and believes that no adoptable animal should ever be euthanized simply because there is no room!
