AJ’s Best Friends Rescue is an all-volunteer registered 501c3 non-profit companion animal rescue organization working in the East Valley suburbs of Phoenix, AZ Arizona. Our primary focus is on rescuing Purebred cats and small Purebred or mixed breed dogs destined to be euthanized in the area shelters or in other dangerous, life-threatening situations. Some of the cat breeds that we rescue include Persian, Himalayan, Exotic Shorthair, Selkirk Rex, Ragdoll, Siamese, Tonkinese, Burmese, Russian Blue, Egyptian Mau, Bengal, Munchkin, Scottish Fold, and Maine Coon. Some of the purebred dog breeds include Pomeranian, Lhasa Apso, Shih Tzu, Poodle, Pekingese, Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, Dachshund, Schnauzer.

We are comprised entirely of experienced volunteers united and inspired by a common compassion for all animals. Our primary focus is on saving cats and dogs destined to be euthanized in the area shelters or in other dangerous, life-threatening situations.

Each orphaned animal we help is provided proper veterinary attention, as required, and then is placed into one of our Safe Haven Foster Homes. Our Safe Haven Foster Home program is key to helping a homeless animal become a loving pet. Some of our cats and dogs need extra special care and attention to recuperate from medical, mental or physical neglectabuse, or simply to regain their confidence and trust in people, but they all receive lots of TLC and basic family member training.
