Libby is a beautiful dog, white with blue merle coloring and some red spotting too. She is a female Australian Cattle Dog mix (commonly known as a Queensland heeler), probably mixed with some Australian Shepherd. Libby is calm and well mannered, about 6 years young. Adoption fee $55.00 but discounted to $14.00 until February 14th - Valentine Day Special!
Libby‘s typical day is spent following her people around the house. She will sit a few feet away from you as you attend to your tasks, being careful not get underfoot. She is a housetrained indoor dog who could easily spend the day inside while her family was at work or school. While home alone, she might enjoy a chew toy like a hard plastic dental chew or a rope toy, but that’s the only thing in the house she’ll chew. Libby also loves to go outside for a walk, behaving perfectly on leash. At night, she will curl up by your bedside on a dog bed. Libby does not try to get on the couch or bed.
Libby gets along well with all other dogs, including bossy dogs, although she doesn’t interact much with other dogs, but can NOT be trusted with cats. She likes most people she meets, adults and children, although she is initially shy with strangers. Libby is frightened by people wearing hats - likes men but is initially a little more comfortable with women, so she’d do best in a home that had among its members one adult female companion; she’d probably also do best with calmer kids ages 10 and up. Libby follows basic commands like “sit” and “stay.” If you are looking for a guard dog, Libby is not your gal because she rarely barks.
Libby is in overall very good health, but she’s in the slimming down process. She’s is working toward her ideal weight of 45 lbs. Libby has clean teeth, clear eyes, and many more years to live and love.
